From the Beginning!

I want to start out with the day that we had our sweet little angel. I was 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I was very miserable and so ready for him to get here. Shon and I were at home getting ready to go out to eat Mexican with our friends when my water broke. We were already ready because we were about to leave and our bags were already in the car because we had had a false alarm the day before so we left almost immediately. When we got in the car to leave the house it was about 6:00 and my contractions were already close to 3 minutes apart! The hospital is in Boaz, which is about 30 minutes from where we live. By the time we got to the hospital at 6:30 my contractions were 1 1/2 minutes apart. Thankfully our parents were already at the hospital when we got there. We went straight up to labor and delivery, they got my in a room and started to get things ready. A week before when I had been to the doctor I had dilated to a 3 and when the nurse checked me, I had already dilated to a 6! The nurses were saying they were going to try to get me an epidural but I had to have blood work and fluids in my IV first. About 5 minutes later I was dilated to a 10! Needless to say there was no epidural!!! The nurses called the doctor in and they got started getting our little man here! He was born about 10 minutes later at 7:19 p.m. on February 25, 2011. He weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. He was kind of bruised and had a major cone head but the nurses said that was because he had come so fast!
During the delivery, Shon did so good! He only had to sit down at the end when it was all over but I think that was because everything had happened so fast and he was a little overwhelmed! All of our family came in and of course they were so excited but somewhat shocked because everything had happened so fast. Even the doctor was shocked! No one really knows why he came so fast we were all just happy that he was finally here and that he was healthy! We are so blessed!
