Happy Father's Day granddad, its been a long day!

Fathers day weekend was very busy but so much fun! Mack and I got Shon a gift card to play golf at Farm Links golf course. He gets to play golf all day and it included lunch, snacks, drinks, and range balls! Shon was so excited! I am so proud of Shon; he is such a wonderful daddy! He and Mack really are BEST FRIENDS! Shon also just got a new job at Sand Mountain Toyota! I think that he is going to love it. It is going to take some getting used to for Mack and me because he will be working a lot more and working a lot later but I think it will be worth it.

The Saturday of Fathers Day Weekend we went to Papaw Wills and Nanas house to hang out by the pool. Kim and Terry Reese came and Chris came and brought Miss Erah Kate with him. It was too funny to watch Mack look at Erah Kate. We have always said that those two have been talking to each other since they were in the womb and I really believe it. When Erah Kate got there Mack was asleep but as soon as he woke up and I took him close to her he would not quit staring at her. She was asleep in her swing but when Mack came in the room she opened her eyes. She went back to sleep but she did open them for a minute. When they were both awake Kim and Kim (the nanas) were holding them and letting them look at each other. Mack was just amazed with Erah Kate, he was grunting and talking to her, he even laughed out loud! We have tried to get him to laugh out loud at us and he wont do it but he did to Erah Kate. They are so cute!

We left Will and Kim’s and went home that night to get some sleep for the busy day ahead. On fathers day morning we woke up and met Pop and Uncle Tuck at Shoney’s to eat breakfast. Granna and Aunt Kenzie are gone on a mission trip to Mexico so they were not with us. After we ate we went back to Pops house and hung out with him. We played outside and made homemade ice cream and Mack took a couple naps with Shon and with Pop. We left there and went to Granddad’s house to see him and Mimi. He was so good all day. He talked to everybody and just took everything in. He did get sleepy that night but I don’t blame him, I was sleepy too! Overall the day was wonderful! I hope that Shon had a great Fathers Day and I look forward to many more!!

Summer time is finally here and Mack is 16 weeks old! He is not officially 4 months because February is a short month but he is close. He has started eating 5 ounces most feedings now and he is actually drinking his juice instead of just playing with the bottle. He likes white grape juice the most! We tried to give him cereal for the first time and it was so funny. He did not like it at all. He spit pretty much all of it out. I guess he is not quite ready for cereal. He did get to try a few real things, all of which when Mommy wasn’t around! He tried chocolate milk shake and Pops store with Bet Bet and Diane, and he tried cheese sauce from mac-n-cheese and mashed potatoes with Nana. I don’t really care that much, just a little taste won’t hurt him. All of those women have raised their kids and they know what they are doing! Kim, Nana, said that Shon was eating mashed potatoes when he was Mack’s age and he turned out just fine. I won’t be giving him real food all the time yet but just trying stuff will be ok. His Nana said that he really liked the cheese and mashed potatoes and that he wanted more!

He is so animated now. He recognizes the people he knows and almost always greets them with a smile. Sometimes he even smiles at people he doesn’t know! He is really a happy baby. I am still so thankful for his chiropractor, Dr. John Alan Smith, he really did make Mack much happier. The only times he cries now is if he is hungry or sleepy, like a normal baby should! No more endless hours of crying! He has started paying more attention to the TV and he loves the show Yo Gabba Gabba! I think it is terrible and crazy but he actually grins at the TV when he watches it! He will watch it for about 15 or 20 minutes and then he is ready for more play time.

He wants to sit up or stand up all the time, and he does both really well with some help of course. He is very independent and curious about what is going on around him. He gets in these moods sometimes where he looks like he is “high” but we have decided that he is just a deep thinker. He will just look around with no expression and check things out. It really is funny to watch him take everything in around him. No matter what we do in front of him he is just calm and relaxed when he is in one of those moods. He makes noises all the time, he ooos and ahhhs and grunts and screams, it is so precious! I think if he could he would be walking around and talking right now.

We took him to see Rodney and Denise Willoughby at the campground and he got to play with their grandson, Weston Sipe. Weston is Uncle Gabe’s nephew. He sat in the pool with Weston while Weston splashed around and crawled everywhere and he loved it. He just looked around and watched; even when he got slashed with water it didn’t bother him.
We also went to Amy and Denny Lulfs house to cook out one night too. We watched the big boys play baseball in the back yard and he sat with Ms. Susan and Ms. Amy until he got sleepy and was ready to go home.

Shon and I are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy! He is growing way too fast but we are enjoying every minute of it.

Mommy Love

This post had to combine 13, 14, and 15 weeks because the time is just going by so fast, I cant keep up! Mack is getting so big and he is just so much fun. He has started grabbing his toys even more and he loves to talk! He is holding his head up great, and he doesn't like to lay back he wants to see what is going on around him! I think if he could he would get up and run away! He wants to move all the time. He still hasn't laughed again, he did one night it the bathtub about 3 weeks ago and we haven't heard it since. Shon and I try so hard to make him laugh but he always just smiles really big and kind of squeals! He is sleeping better and has slept through the night twice so far, I am ready for that to become a regular thing. When he does wake up during the night it is usually just once and he takes his bottle and goes back to sleep so its not too bad. He is waking up now between 5:30 and 6:00 and he likes to watch cartoons in our bed for about 20 minutes. During that time he really doesn't want anyone to talk to him, he is in the "chill zone." If you try to talk to him he will cut his eyes away so he doesn't have to look at you! It takes him a while to wake up, just like his Daddy! Once we gets awake good he is so playful and talkative. He usually goes back down for his morning nap around 9:00 or 10:00. He doesn't sleep much during the day anymore, usually just little 30 minute cat naps here and there. He is still loving his bath time and he is always ready for it by 7:30, if he doesn't get it he gets fussy fussy! He loves to hang out with his Daddy, rocking and watching golf and playing of course. Shon says that they are best friends. :)
He had his first stomach bug this past week. It was so sad! He went to Granna and Pop's after what we thought what Pop had was food poisoning but obviously it was a virus. We took him to the doctor and he had already grown 2 more inches in less than 6 weeks but he hadn't gained a pound! He is now 26 inches long! His stomach bug was only really bad for one day, on that day he had 8 poopy diapers! Its hard to get him to go once a day usually so to have 8 was rough! Besides that day he was pretty normal you could just tell that his tummy was hurting and he really wanted to be held and loved on. While he was sick we got his Johnny Jump Up from Kim Reese and even though he was sick he really enjoyed it the first time we put him in it. He loves to stand up so it was just perfect. He is not jumping in it yet but he can straighten his legs out and move around pretty good. Of course he likes to eat it too.
We went to our first birthday party this week too! Mommy's friend Brittanee's little girl Jesslyn turned 2 and we went to her Minnie Mouse Party! He did pretty good, but he was definitely the youngest one there. He is still loving the pool and the water and being outside. I think that he would live outside if we would let him. He likes to sit in his frog seat with a fan on him and play! We love him more and more every day! Cant believe he will be 4 months next week!

First Time in the Pool

Lounging in his new float!

Mack is 13 weeks and we took him to the pool for the first time this week and he loved it! We bought him a new float and coated him down with sunscreen and he did great! I definitely think he is a water baby!
